In the two weeks since COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic, borders have been closed, airlines have been grounded, and lives disrupted.
However, port workers, mariners, equipment operators, and maritime community are continuing to maintain the steady movement of cargo in the face of emergency. Their hard work and dedication help guarantee that our supply lines remain open, ensuring that our shelves remain stocked, and our hospitals have the needed medical supplies.
As a gesture of gratitude, the Fujairah Port Authority is standing in solidarity with communities battling the COVID-19 pandemic by sounding, “Horns of Hope”.
As an initiative, at 18:30 hr (UAE local time) every evening, ships and utility boats in the Port of Fujairah and Fujairah Offshore Anchorage will sound their horns for 15 seconds in recognition and support of the maritime, healthcare, and critical sector personnel still working on the front lines to address the impact of the COVID-19.
