The department of public works and agriculture has built up to 57km of internal roads that connect 15 key areas across the emirate of Fujairah.

Salem Al Maksah, director of the department, pointed out that the first phase of the internal roads project has been completed.

“The 57km of internal roads have been laid out in collaboration with the Fujairah Municipality, Dibba Fujairah Municipality, and Fujairah Foundation for Natural Sources.”

The new roads are part of the modern roads system in the emirate, he added. “The roads connect 15 main areas across the emirate.”

“These include 11km of internal roads at Didana area, 10km at Marbah area, and other internal roads in Dibba Fujairah, Al Tawyin, Al Qarya, Wadi Sidr, Merashid, Al Hillah, Al Siji, Masafi, Al Baleeda, Al Bathna, Ohla, Wadi Mai, and Al Saram.”

Al Maksah said they have also finished phase-one of the development project of the Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi road as per the latest international standards.

“The internal roads developed in the emirate’s downtown have contributed to reducing congestion and boosting smooth traffic flow.”

The new roads projects in the emirate are meant to establish an integrated infrastructure that contribute to the sustainable development in the emirate, he underlined.

“Public parks in Rul-Dibba and Al Tawyeen Park, Bidiyah and Al Siji have also been completed.”
