Every year on the 26th of September, people all over the world take action to call for a world free of nuclear weapons.
This Day provides an opportunity to highlight the need to eliminate nuclear weapons and the social and economic costs of perpetuating them. The UN has commemorated this Day each year since 2014, providing an opportunity for governments and some civil society to discuss progress and priorities for nuclear disarmament.
