Exploring Fujairah and the Emirates from A to Z: Bird Watching
It is still hot but the temperatures are steadily falling, making conditions more pleasant all the time. With the days still long, the late afternoon is a good time to go out, temperatures having dropped to around 28°C by nightfall.
Birdwatchers are privileged people in these months. The UAE lies at the crossroads of two major migration routes from Europe to Asia and Africa. The increased size of plantations and insect populations, and the availability of water here, have made this area a favourite stopover for the birds – in fact, a number of species spend all winter here and are even starting to breed in the Emirates.
Great places to birdwatching in Fujairah are: Fujairah Fort, Hajar Mountains, by the beach, Al Madhab Park and much more.
