Khor Kalba is the oldest mangrove forest in this part of Arabia, stretching for 7kms along 2 branches of a tidal creek. An absolute haven for birds and marine life and also a popular spot for BBQ’s and picnics.
There’s also a small play area for children. Sharjah Investment and Development Authority in collaboration with the Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) in Sharjah is working on to establish regular kayaking and canoeing activities skirting these well protected mangroves.
