Ras Al Khaimah (ras al kay-ma): This Emirate is a natural beautiful spot surrounded by sea, desert and mountains. It has some good camping areas. There are some natural springs and several very interesting archaeological sites such as The Queen of Sheba’s Palace to the north.
Sharjah (shar-ja): This emirate is known for its beautiful and impressive architectural buildings, mosques, museums and distinctive Islamic designed souks. It is a great place to visit and see the Al Buheirah Corniche and its local restaurants and Khalid’s Lagoon. Sharjah has very strict dress code and is the only “dry’ emirate.
Umm Al Quwain (um al ku-wayne): Popular for sailing, bird watching and “Dreamland” aqua park which attracts thousands of visitors.
