Discover East Coast: Wadi Asimah
For many years the route through Wadi Asimah was on the main route from the east to the west, continuing on through Wadi Tayyibah. The highlights of this trip include some wonderful opportunities for camping near Al Ghail and a lovely short walk down Al Fara with its stream, seasonal pools and waterfall.
Further along, Wadi Al Mawrid has some slightly more challenging driving through lush oasis scenery, with an old falaj (irrigation system) built into the wadis walls. Even the village of Asimah is quaint and picturesque. This is a truly historic (if a little bumpy) trip down memory lane.

From the village of Al Ghail on the edge of the desert; this route takes in secluded villages, small pools, quiet strolls and plentiful greenery.
The driving gets interesting in a couple of places as the track meanders between falaj, dams and plantations, and over the solid rock bed, but the increased tarmac through Wadi Asimah has smoothed out the roughest parts.
