Nad Al Sheba
As well as the quiet roads in this area popular with roadies, the is a good off-road loop on tree-lined tracks around the palaces and stables. Start at the mosque carpark.
Fili
For easy loops, technical single track and good scenery, turn east off the Madam-Dhaid Road into the low mountains, and saddle up the Fiji dam carpark.
Hatta
Either an easy out and back route to the pools, or head for the hatta-Kalba road into the mountains, off of which there are numerous options for off-road loops.
Siji
A good place to explore, with countless options of snaking trails across across rolling hills, start near Siji crusher, just south of the E88 near Siji Eppco.
Masafi Plantations
One of the best areas in the Emirates with technical single track, rolling 4WD tracks, great scenery and an excellent finish through the leafy plantations. Start at Masafi.
Wadi Sana
A steep, demanding climb of 500m in 3km takes you to a plateau where you can rest before the five-minute descent back down on one of the best downhills in the country.
Wadi Bih
A long climb from the east coast for the drop into Wadi Bih, the ascent back up, and the long fast descent back out.
Masafi-Fujairah Road to Wadi Madhah
A great point-to-point route over the mountains to the east coast, with a side trip to the pools at the end of Wadi Shis.
Start near Daftah.
Jebel Hafeet
A tough, tarmac climb rising some 800 m rewards you with stunning 360 views.
