Located at the base of the Hajar mountains outside of Kalba, Al Hefaiyah Mountain Conservation Centre celebrates the rich biodiversity of the region’s mountain habitats.
Through conservation initiatives and community education, the centre is committed to protect both the delicate landscape and its vulnerable wildlife for future generations.
With landscape enclosures and imaginitive displays, Al Hefaiyah Mountain Conservation Centre draws visitors close to the flora and fauna of the mountains, and highlights the strong connections between the animals and landscape and regional creativity and culture.
Hosting thirty different mountain species, the centre offers unique viewing opportunities from within the centre out across large landscaped enclosures, and within indoor noncturnal habitats.
A 1.5 Km round trip outdoor wraps around the hills of the wildlife centre, connecting seven viewing hides. Visitors can walk the trail or join the Gulf cart tour, starting from Hide 7 at the end of the indoor visitor centre experience.
Wildlife Displays
Of the many different animals that can be seen at Al Hefaiyah Mountain Conservation Centre, some are easy to observe. Others might be hiding from view or resting, so you may have to look closely as their camouflage can be very effective!
