The 24th of December sees the annual edition of Fujairah Adventures mountain bike enduro race.
You might be thinking what is Enduro mountain biking?
Well, it is an exciting format of racing in which riders have to complete 3 predominately downhill stages in as fast a time as possible. The times of all 3 stages are added together and the quickest rider is the winner. The previous 3 editions of the race have attracted riders from all over the world, including the UK, Germany USA, Mexico, the Philippines, Hungary, Spain, France and Holland as well as Emiratis and residents living here in the UAE.
The race is being hosted in Fujairah’s Adventure Park and there really is something for everyone to do on the day of the race.
If you are feeling brave enough and have a suitable mountain bike, safety equipment and experience you can enter the race. The entry fee is 120 AED and there are 4 categories in the race, Elite, Expert, Masters and Female. All entries will receive a limited t-shirt commemorating the event and there are several prizes up for grabs. You can enter on the day of the race and registration is at 6am (for more information please contact Fujairah Adventures).
If you don’t want to race, you are welcome to come and spectate. The Adventure Park is allowing free entry on the day. The first riders will start racing at 07.30 and the racing will last several hours.
There is plenty to do in the park, you can take s ahort or long hike, try some of the 5 routes up climbing wall, ride the Pump Track and Jump Track or just sit and take the amazing scenery and exciting racing in the shaded relaxation area drinking a coffee or ice-cold soda. Fujairah Adventure Park is ideal for kids, with dedicated play cycling and play areas.
