H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, received, in the Al Rumailah Palace, Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and SMEs and Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), and Dr Abdullatif Al Shamsi, President & CEO of HCT, in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.
During the meeting, Sheikh Hamad reviewed the design of the new HCT building in Dibba Al Fujairah and was briefed about its details. The new building is based on the concept of a smart university, which utilises artificial intelligence, as well as advanced education methods, simulation and virtual reality systems.
Sheikh Hamad approved the new HCT building, which will combine in-person and remote learning systems, promote a culture of entertainment and create a comprehensive smart educational environment.
The construction of the building, which will cost some AED174 million and have a capacity of 1,514 students, will begin in August 2022 and is set to be completed by June 2024.
The new project was launched as part of the directives of Sheikh Hamad to allocate a 90,000-square metre plot of land for the project in Dibba Al Fujairah.
