Emirates Post Group, in collaboration with Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, issued a distinctive commemorative stamp in recognition of its support to the national initiatives to serve and develop the United Arab Emirates.
Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation was established under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE “God protect him”, by Federal Decree on 20 March 2007, and under the leadership of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of the Award’s Board of Trustees.
The Award aims to highlight UAE’s leading role in the development of date palm cultivation and agricultural innovation on a national, regional, and international level. It also aims to promote food security and sustainable development, in addition to celebrating the outstanding efforts in this field and honoring the Award winners within its five categories, in accordance with international best practices.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the UAE, the Award’s General Secretariat affirms its commitment to the values of tolerance and coexistence through this postage stamp issuance that shows the approach adopted by the UAE’s wise leadership.
“UAE The land of Tolerance and Coexistence” is represented by the date palm tree as it personifies these values, due to its ability to adapt to various environmental conditions, in addition to being an important national heritage symbol for the people of the UAE, accompanying their successes through time as a source of shelter and food. It is also a symbol of generosity and unlimited giving
