Al Ghail it’s a very beautiful and quiet trail located just outside Kalba. The path is very well made and the route is approximately 6km long.

Hiking on this trail during the summer is certainly very challenging as the first part of the trail is a bit steep. The site has different routes to reach the top of the mountain. One of the routes starting along the Al Ghail Dam and the other one on the opposite side. It’s very obvious when you are there. The Dam has water all year round, however at the moment it’s very low.

The peak is over 200 meters and the view is amazing from the top. On a clear day you can admire the view over Kalba and also across the Oman Gulf.

Although this hiking is safe for almost everyone it demands a lot of effort, so if you start to feel uneasy,  just turn back as the hike does not get any easier all the way to the top.

From Fujairah, the destination can be reached in about 20 minutes by car. It has places to park the car very near where the mountain track starts.

The average time for completing the hiking can vary between 1h30 to 2h00. After 5:00pm is when the weather gets a little better for this kind of activity during the summer and of course remember to take plenty of water with you. Enjoy !
