106,000 people nationwide benefit from ERC’s sacrificial meat campaign

Nearly 106,488 people in the UAE have benefitted from the Emirates Red Crescent’s (ERC) sacrificial meat campaign this year.
The ERC has increased its local presence to support more families, workers and vulnerable people who were the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and its current economic conditions.
The ERC’s centres around the country have distributed sacrificial meat close to the residences of the target categories, and its strategy is aimed at increasing the number of beneficiaries of its project nationwide numbering 27,680 people in Abu Dhabi, 13,840 in Al Ain, 15,936 in Dubai, 10,640 in Sharjah, 9,600 in Ras Al Khaimah, 10,640 in Ajman, 8,800 in Fujairah, 5,056 in Umm Al Qaiwain, and 4,256 in Al Dhafra.
The ERC’s committees are supervising the campaign’s distribution mechanisms and notified beneficiaries before Eid about the procedures aimed at facilitating the distribution process.
The ERC also pointed out that it has drafted a detailed plan to achieve the project’s local objectives, in line with the precautionary measures adopted by official authorities to limit the spread of COVID-19, enforce social distancing and protect beneficiaries.
Under this framework, the ERC lauded the role of volunteers in spreading the ERC’s humanitarian message, through their participation in its programmes.
The ERC also extended its appreciation to philanthropists for their cooperation in its donation campaign, which facilitated the process of distributing sacrificial meat.
