Al Aqah Heritage Village
Heritage villages are one of the main resources for cultural tourism, an important economic resource on which the local community depends, as well as the development of awareness and social solidarity, which has an impact on visitors, tourists, and the maintenance of the continuity of the architectural heritage identity.
It also benefits from tourism promotion, an important means of activating economic and commercial activity, as well as investing in sustainable projects that benefit the local community and families in need.
Location: Al Aqah Heritage Village
One of the most important projects launched in 2015 is the newly constructed Heritage Village project opposite the Al-Aqah Tourist Hotel, funded personally by a citizen.
The village is a new concept in the revival of heritage as it preserves the old folk character, although it is more systematic and modern than the old villages, through its design.
The Heritage Village contains a variety of special museums and buildings such as:
- Classic Cars Museum: This museum contains a variety of unique and rare original classic cars from the area and from all over the world.
- Old Currency Museum: This museum contains a variety of old regional and international rare notes and coins.
- Islamic Museum: This museum contains many ancient collections, books and Islamic manuscripts.
- Excavations Museum: This museum contains numerous fossil and skeletons dating back thousands of years.
- House of Parents and Grandparents: This museum contains many old household items.
- Heritage Street: This street expresses the authenticity of the old heritage streets and ends with an old lake.
- Rocks: A group of rocks that goes back in its lifetime for million of years.
- Heritage Cafe
