In a meeting held in Baku, the Executive Board of the International Taekwondo Federation (ITF), chaired by the Federation’s President, Dr. Chungwon Choue, announced that the Emirate of Fujairah will host the World Juniors Taekwondo Championships in 2025.
In addition, the Board announced that Ouchi City in China would host the World Senior Taekwondo Championships.
According to Dr. Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Chairman of the UAE Taekwondo Federation, “The vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, and the continuous support of H.H. It is Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, the Crown Prince of Fujairah, Honorary President of the UAE Taekwondo Federation, and their generous patronage that is driving the development of the sports sector in the emirate and paving the way for remarkable achievements across all fields, especially martial arts.”
This tournament reflects the ITF’s confidence in the UAE leadership and the Emirate of Fujairah’s ability to host a sporting event of this magnitude, Al Zeyoudi said. “We are committed to making all the necessary arrangements and preparations to organise this tournament according to the highest standards.”
Dr. Al Zeyoudi thanked the UAE Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mohamed Murad Al Balushi, and members of the embassy in Baku.
Fujairah has established itself as a premier martial arts destination. It has Taekwondo rings and stadiums that meet ITF standards.
Dr. Al Zeyoudi was joined at the meeting by Abdullah Al Samahi, Secretary-General of the UAE Taekwondo Federation, and Nader Abu Shawish, Director of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club.
