The Fujairah Martial Arts Club has won the shield of general excellence in fencing for the 2022-2023 season. This is the latest in a series of achievements for the club, which has also won titles in taekwondo, judo, and other sports.
The shield was presented to the club by His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Fencing Federation.
Nader Abushawish, the club’s director, said that the victory is a reflection of the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, and the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.
He added that the victory is a result of the hard work of the club’s management, coaches, and players, and the cooperation of parents.
The club’s players also won a number of individual shields, including:
- Al-Hayam Al-Balushi: Best emerging player, first place under 20 years, first place overall, and Arab championship shield
- Mehra Ali: First place under 20 years and best female player in the Sabre Corps
- Shamma Al-Shehhi: First place overall in the Sabre Corps
