The championship was attended by more than 200 fencers from 15 countries. Al-Hayam lost to the eventual champion in the final.
Al-Hayam is now preparing to participate in the West Asian Championship under the age of twenty and the West Asian Championship under the age of twenty-three.
Nader Abu Shawish, Director of the Fujairah Club for Martial Arts, said that Al-Hayam’s achievement is a great incentive to continue working hard towards more victories. He also said that the club is committed to supporting Al-Hayam and other young athletes in their quest for success.
The Crown Prince of the Emirate of Fujairah, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, has also praised Al-Hayam’s achievement. He said that the young fencer is an inspiration to others and that he is confident that Al-Hayam will continue to achieve great things in the future.
Al-Hayam’s achievement is a proud moment for the UAE and for the Fujairah Martial Arts Club. It is also a testament to the hard work and dedication of Al-Hayam and his coaches. I wish Al-Hayam all the best in his future competitions.
