On November 20th, the Fujairah Marine Sports Club (FMSC) announced details regarding the hosting of the final round of the World XCAT Powerboat Championship, the Fujairah Grand Prix 2023. The event is set to take place from December 1st to 3rd and is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, the Crown Prince of Fujairah.

Ahmed Ibrahim Al Blooshi, the Executive Director of FMSC, emphasized that the event’s organization is a collaborative effort with the International Powerboating Federation under the umbrella of the UAE Marine Sports Federation. He noted that the championship coincides with the country’s National Day celebrations, adding significant value to the global event. Anticipating intense competition, especially given the close rankings of the top three positions, Al Blooshi wished success to the 9 participating boats, led by the UAE’s representative “Fazza,” alongside boats from Kuwait, Australia, Britain, and Italy.

Mohammed Abdullah Harib, the Executive Director of Dubai International Marine Sports Club, affirmed that the success of Fujairah in hosting the event represents a common goal for all UAE clubs. He emphasized the importance of sustaining sports activities across different cities in the country to enhance the UAE’s standing as a key organizer of global maritime competitions.

These statements were made during the first preparatory meeting organized by FMSC at the Fujairah Beach Hotel. The meeting included representatives from various entities involved in hosting the event, discussing the roles of different stakeholders and coordinating support to ensure the success of the international event.
