Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Sports Creativity Awards announced
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Sports Creativity Award, one of the international initiatives by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has announced the results of the voting for six emerging athletes from the United Arab Emirates. These athletes have achieved remarkable success on both regional and international levels. The winners were revealed during the 12th edition of the award ceremony held in Jumeirah City, Dubai, after public voting and the selection process by the award committee.
Notably, among the nominees were athletes from the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, with six players in total representing the country. Ahmed Khaled Al Abdouli, a Taekwondo player, secured the second position in the public voting results for winning the gold medal at the 2023 International Taekwondo Championship in Macedonia. Hyam Saif Al Balushi, a fencer, ranked fifth for her achievement of winning the gold medal at the 2022 West Asia Championship.
This initiative is part of the global efforts of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and aligns with the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, the patron of the award, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and President of the UAE Olympic Committee, who leads the award. Its purpose is to support and honor talented emerging athletes.
On this occasion, Nader Abu Shawish, the director of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, stated that these results reflect the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi and effectively translate his directives. He added that these awards contribute to increasing interest in individual sports, appreciating Emirati talents, and expressed pride in the club’s athletes. He emphasized that these achievements are the result of dedicated training and continuous support from both athletes and the coaching staff.
