Inaugural Fujairah International Adventure Tourism Conference starts 30th April

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the First Fujairah International Adventure Tourism Conference will take place from April 30th to May 2nd. Organized by the Fujairah Adventure Centre, the event will be held with the participation of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, marking a significant step in positioning the emirate as a global hub for adventure tourism and sustainable ecotourism.
This landmark event underscores the Fujairah government’s dedication to promoting the emirate as a leading destination for nature and adventure experiences while fostering responsible tourism practices. The conference will gather prominent international experts, specialists, and decision-makers from the fields of tourism, adventure sports, environmental protection, and sustainability.
Key themes of the conference include sustainable tourism development, innovation in adventure tourism, and the preservation of natural resources. Participants will also explore local, regional, and global challenges and opportunities in the sector.
The conference agenda features a range of activities, including interactive workshops, panel discussions, and field visits to some of Fujairah’s most notable natural and tourist attractions.
Amr Zein Eddin, Director of the Fujairah Adventure Centre and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee, highlighted that hosting this event is a strategic milestone for the emirate. He affirmed that Fujairah’s selection as host reflects its strong commitment to sustainable tourism, economic development, and the preservation of its distinct geological and cultural heritage. The event also reinforces the UAE’s position as a premier destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers worldwide.
Amr Zein Eddin further noted that by uniting a distinguished group of regional and international experts, the conference will contribute to shaping the future of adventure tourism in ways that benefit local communities and protect the natural environment.
A major highlight of the conference will be the announcement of the region’s first unified framework for adventure tourism—a groundbreaking step towards regulating and enhancing the sector’s regional and global appeal.
In addition, the conference will see the release of the first Arabic translation of the International Federation of Sport Climbing’s official book, which outlines global safety standards and best practices. This initiative will help expand awareness and professional training in the field across Arabic-speaking countries.
As part of its commitment to fostering global and local collaboration, Fujairah will also sign several cooperation and partnership agreements. These aim to encourage knowledge exchange, strategic alliances, and investment between public and private entities, further boosting the emirate’s adventure tourism infrastructure.
Collectively, these initiatives reflect Fujairah’s strategic vision to develop a thriving, sustainable adventure tourism sector that attracts enthusiasts from around the world while preserving its natural treasures for future generations.
