Fujairah Kayak Fishing Championship

FUJAIRAH KAYAK FISHING CHAMPIONSHIP  

COMPETITION RULES FOR ENTRANTS 

 GENERAL  

1. The competition is intended as a ‘Fun event’ 
2. Professionalism is welcome but not prerequisite. 
3. This tournament is open to men and woman over 18 years of age. 
4. Junior anglers are allowed to participate provided an accompanying adult is with them. 

 REGISTRATION  

1. All participants must completely fill out the official registration form. 
2. Entry fee will be AED200 per angler excluding juniors and ladies.  
3. All participants must fill out and sign the original “Liability waiver “which also allows the club to use images and videos for media and promotional material. 
4. All Kayaks participating in the competition must be registered and approved by the organizing committee. 
5. All competitors must have on board: 

• Life jackets  
• First aid kits  

 KAYAKS  

1. All participants must bring their own kayaks. Only single-seat kayaks are allowed , two- seater kayaks will only be allowed if a junior or female rider is escorted. 
2. It’s an open kayak event. Anglers must be fishing from a non- motorized vessel. Kayak , Canoe, and Stand Up Paddle boards (SUP) are the only permitted watercrafts in this event. Only one person per vessel. Sails are not allowed. 
3. A personal Flotation Device (PFD) must be worn at all times. No (PFD) no fishing. 

 RULES  

1. It’s mandatory to attend the briefing. 
2. All kayaks must be numbered, numbers will be given at the briefing. 
3. Anglers are only allowed to launch their kayaks once approved by organizer and after completion of all administrative duties 
4. The organizing committee will determine the fishing zones and the limited places by placing buoys and marks , fishing outside these limits is not allowed. 
5. All participants must follow the marine safety rules ‘safety come first’. 
6. Competition will be started according to the event time table which will be circulated2 weeks before the event.  
7. All participants must be ready at the starting jetty for starting procedures. 
8. Camping facilities will be available for all participants, bring own tent and supply own BBQ as no BBQ on beaches. 
9. All modern fishing methods jigging , trolling , casting , also live and dead bait are permitted. 
10. Photography is allowed. 
11. The tail will be measured as it lies. 
12. Organizer committee will provide a yellow flag for all participants to be used in order to seek help from rescue boats. 

 CATCH  

1. All fish must be taken with a fishing rod, line and hook on the day of the tournament. No other methods are permitted.

3. Fish must be hooked in the mouth. Fowl hooked Fish are ineligible. 

PROCEDURES  

1. Briefing before the start of the tournament. 
2. Competitors and their kayaks must be at FIMC harbor for last checks at starting points. 
3. Kayaks return to the FIMC harbor 
4. Weigh station open. 
5. Weigh station closed. 
6. Results & winners announced 
7. All competitors should be present for the award ceremony. 

 CATEGORIES AND PRIZES:  

1. Junior Anglers 3 cash prizes and medals 
2. Ladies Anglers 3 cash prizes and medals 
3. Heaviest fish 3 cash prizes and medals 
4. Longest fish 3 cash prizes and medals 

 from the categories above First, Second and the third will receive cash prizes and medals  

In addition, a raffle will be drown for all participants including vouchers from sponsors.
