FMAC Ramadan Tournament starts 29th March

The Fujairah Martial Arts Club organizes the third edition of the Mohammed bin Hamad Ramadan Martial Arts Tournament during the period 29th-31st March at the Zayed Sports Complex, under the sponsorship of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.

The FMAC Ramadan Tournament will be held across six sports: Taekwondo, Judo, Wrestling, Boxing, Fencing, and Karate, in the largest specialized Ramadan martial arts tournament in cooperation with local sports federations.

In this context, Nader Abu Shawish, the director of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, revealed that the organizing committee of the tournament launched the official website for the Mohammed bin Hamad Ramadan Tournament on the World Wide Web at www.mbhgames.com and on the club’s social media sites, including technical and administrative details and competition in the tournament. Participation will be open to citizens, residents, and foreigners from outside the UAE, provided that the player is medically and physically fit. He disclosed that the organizing committee ensured that the participating categories are the same as those participating in the Gulf Games, hosted by the UAE next month.

The organizing committee limited the participation of players to only one sport, with registration for the FMAC Ramadan Tournament officially launched and being the only way to participate until the 27th of this month.

In turn, Ehab Asteitieh, the tournament director, highlighted the prizes, stating that the top three winners and the third runner-up would be honored with colored medals according to their ranks, in addition to cash prizes in each competitive category. Regarding the ages allowed to participate, Taekwondo competitions will be for junior boys and girls, youth, and ladies with ten weights in each category, conducted in a single-elimination system for individuals.

In the Judo tournament, participation will be allowed for males and females born in 2007-2008-2009. In the Wrestling tournament, males born in 2010-2011 will be allowed to participate, while participation for those born in 2012 will require parental consent. The Boxing tournament will be for ages from 2006 for young men and women. Fencing competitions for ages under 11 years in Foil, Épée, and Sabre will be for those born in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Karate competitions will be limited to cubs for ages 11-13 years and juniors for ages 14-16 years.
